this was the sweatiest (i don´t know if that´s a word or not. it´s supposed to mean a lot of sweat) week of my mission. just a random update. it wasn´t hot this week as far as temperature goes, it was only 90 degrees or so, but it was SUPER SUPER humid every day. It rained almost every morning, but in the afternoon it got hot and humid, so i sweated like crazy. But, that´s ok. It´s part of paraguay. Also, this letter will probably be a little short. I spent 15 minutes trying to send pictures, but in the end, it didn´t work. So, sorry. I tried.
well, as for this week. Victoria got back from her vacation on friday and she´s getting baptized this saturday (23rd). She´s super excited and super ready. They were at church at 8:30 yesterday (which is really impressive because nobody shows up before 9am here. Our bishop showed up at 9:15 yesterday and the meetings supposedly start at 8:30) So, that was awesome and the members treated them really really well. So, were excited for this week.
This week started out really really good, and then, kinda went downhill. We started strong and then, we just kind of died. I´m not really sure what happens. I don´t know why, but if my companion talks while he´s in the streets, he gets completly unfocused and then, i get unfocused and we end up not teaching anybody. I don´t know why really. I´ve always talked a lot in the streets with my comps and it´s always been fine. But, with my comp right now, if we talk, we end up in la la land. So, we´re trying to figure out how to change that. We´re out working all day, everyday, but i feel like we don´t really accomplish anything. My numbers this week were worse than any week of my mission for the last 6 or 7 months. It was bad. Our problem is that other than victoria, we really don´t have any other good investigators, so we never get lessons with members or anything. But, we´ve found one guy that is really good that came to church yesterday (his name´s Julio) and he´s really awesome. He´s reading the BoM and he came to church yesterday and he seems to really like the church. He feels good when he reads the BoM and i think he liked church yesterday. He left before i had a really good chance to talk with him, but i think he liked it. We have an appointment with him for tonight with a member that lives almost next door to him. so, we´re excited for him.

We also had zone conference on friday. It was really cool. I learned a lot. I realized that i have a lot of things that i need to do better. Especially planning. Planning has always been really hard for me, becuase in Paraguay, the people are super non committal, so it´s hard to plan for them. But, Pres. Agazzani taught us a lot of things that we can do to get around that. So, we´re going to plan a lot better from now on.
Mom- we´ll i´m glad you´re doing well in your clases. That´s awesome. Hopefully everything turns out ok with that.
John- happy birthday, a couple of days late. I forgot to write it last week. Sorry. Oh well. Random fact... the 1st counseler of our ward had his first kid on the 14th. His daughter was born. so, you share birthdays with her. Just a random fact that you probably don´t really care about., but, oh well.
Austin- YOU´RE GETTING YOUR MISSON CALL THIS WEEK? what in the world? that´s crazy. Congratulations. It´s an awesome thing. the mission is the greatest. You´re a lucky guy.
Tasha- how´s school and everything?
Shaylee- are you alive? i haven´t heard anything about you.
Well, i´m out of time but the church is true. Don´t doubt it. I love the gospel and the BoM. they´re the greatest. Love you all,
Elder Jordan Schouten
