Natasha's Weekly Mission Letter

On Tuesday this week we had ZONE CONFERENCE! and it was great and motivation and all that fun stuff. After we had zone conference we had dinner at the bishop's. He has this dog that is the biggest, cutest dog I've ever met.

On Wednesday we had our first Book of Mormon study class that we started up. We had quite a few people there and for the first time in my life my heart didn't feel like it was going to explode teaching in front of a group of people. I thought to myself, "Hmm maybe I should be a teacher." Then I thought about that for a little longer and then I shuddered and moved on from that idea.

On Thursday we had a lesson with a less-active and her husband who isn't a member. Their son had just died recently so we taught them the Plan of Salvation and Calvin started crying. It was great and the sprit was there.

Thursday was also Sister Lewis's one year mark so I baked her a cake and she smashed it in her face like the one-year-olds do.

One kind of small, but cool miracle happened on Friday. We've been challenged as a mission to give out at least one Book of Mormon every single day. Friday we had some things earlier in the day that kept us from doing any finding. After dinner we had some time to do some finding, but no one was having it. It had gotten to be around 8. We had planned to go try by some less-active members houses from 8-9, but we decided to keep going instead. It was about 8:30 and the very last door we knocked we met a guy who had grown up in Salt-Lake City, but had never read the Book of Mormon. He had been going through some hard things and we were able to give him a Book of Mormon and it was awesome. You can do anything you set your mind to when you have the Lord on your side.

On Sunday in Relief Society we were talking a little about the Atonement. I decided that one of my biggest pet peeves in life is when someone says they feel guilty for the Atonement. That's not the point. The Atonement happened because we're imperfect and we need it to be able to live with Heavenly Father, Jesus and our families again. Jesus Christ performed the Atonement because he loves all of us. So instead of feeling extremely guilty be thankful for his sacrifice and show that you love him in return by using it and becoming a better person.

On a funnier note, we had dinner with the Johnsons that night and we were talking to them about college. So imagine this, you're talking with an 80+ year old woman and your companion asked her what she studied in college and she looks up with a sly smile on her face and says, "Boys." It was hilarious!!!! The Johnsons are the greatest!

Well that was my week. Nothing too exciting. Love you all!

Our wml told us how he and his companion would celebrate p-day eve by drinking yoo-hoos so we thought we'd follow in his footsteps.
