Natasha's Weekly Letter

Hello! Well this week was a crazy one...

On Tuesday we did what we call a zone work day. We got together as a zone with President and Sister Smith and we had our interviews for the transfer and we got to go tracting with other missionaries. I got to tract with an Hermana, Sister Gonda and another Hermana. It took pretty much the whole day from 9-5. Afterwards we had dinner and a lesson with Paul and Eric.

On Wednesday a couple weird things happened. First, we had a guy who was in the army invite us into his garage and show us his certificates and pictures on his garage wall. He was a little bit weird and started telling us he was famous. Let me tell ya, this guy was not famous. So that is when I realized he was drunk. I'm still trying to figure out when someone is drunk. It's times like those when it's super evident that I'm from Utah.

That second weird thing that happened was we got the cops called on us AGAIN! That's the second time in like three weeks. People really don't want us out tracting. It was quite funny.

On Thursday I hit my 6 month mark. Woo! We had 4 lessons planned that day and 3 of them actually happened. So that was super out of the ordinary!

On Saturday we got to do some service. We're teaching someone named Laura whose mom is a less active member. She has progressed a lot, but she and her mom both smoke. We did the no smoking program with them on Thursday. On Saturday we went over to their house and helped them clean their house and remove anything that would remind them of smoking. We threw away all their ashtrays, hung up no smoking signs, aired out their apartment, sprayed down their furniture with febreeze, and did some laundry to get the smell out of their clothes. We were actually able to get most of the smell out of their apartment. They haven't smoked since Saturday!

Saturday we also got transfer calls. It is yet again the end of another transfer. So we got our calls and were told that Sister Daines and I were staying in Hopewell and Hermana LeMaro was leaving which we were all guessing would happen. Sister Daines and I were both really excited about staying, but then drama happened. None of the drama was on our end, but long story short Sister Daines is now also getting transfered. ): We're all really sad about it.

Lets just say that Sunday was an emotional day for all of us, but especially Hermana LeMaro and Sister Daines.

Well that was my week. Everyday this week was out of the ordinary, but it makes life interesting I guess especially when you're a missionary and days seem to blur together because they're all the same. Love you all!

Love,
Sister Schouten
