Well, this letter might be a little bit short. Austin had some pretty important questions for me, so i answered him so i might not be able to write as much. But that´s alright. Austin´s questions were more important.
Well, MIGUEL GOT BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He´s this 9 yr. old boy i told you about. the baptism was really good. Small, but really good. He was actually really really excited for his baptism, which really was a miracle. But it was a really spiritual experience. His dad bore his testimony after the baptism and he said that saturday at 5 am, miguel woke him and his wife up and said "today is sunday, we missed my baptism, what are we going to do? how can i get baptized?" then his dad told him it was saturday, and not to worry. And then miguel, instead of going back to sleep, got his book of mormon and started reading. So that was a pretty cool story about how excited he really was. But it was a fun experience. I´ll try to send pictures but i don´t know that I’ll have time.
Other parts of the work this week. it was a rough week. We really struggled to find our investigatrers in their houses. nobody was home. We did find this pretty cool family yesterday though. It was this 50 yr old lady who´s husband died and her 25ish old son lives with her at home. we taught them the restoration yesterday, and it was a pretty good lesson, but they´re SUPER catholic, but they´ll read the book of mormon, pray, get an answer and get baptized. It will be really good.
Things with my companion are getting better, bit by bit. It´s a process, but it´s getting there. His teaching is 50 times better than it was when i got here, so that at least has been a success of our companionship. And i´ve got A LOT more patience than i had before, so that´s really good to.
Also, so i´m in downtown Asuncion, and there´s a few places like Chinatown that sells legit Paraguayan Indian stuff, like little wooden statutes, and cool indian stuff. I don´t really know how to describe it, but i know that you´d like some of the stuff mom, so if you want me to buy anything for you at the house, you could send me a few dollars, (30 or 40?) and i could buy some stuff for you all. It´s really pretty cool, but i can´t describe it very well.
Also, thanks for the package. I´ll let you know when i get it. Also, with Kyle Shegrud.... I might actually train someone from his group, maybe him. Don´t know, but there´s a chance that my companion leaves for another area, and i train. But i don´t know. We´ll see.
Mom- that talk from elder Holland, could you just copy and paste it in an email. I can´t access lds.org. It´s against the rules. Sounds like you really had a pretty good week. Relaxing is good.
Dad- your hand looks pretty good. I liked that a lot. Building risers. Fun stuff. Terry Binkard is interesting. Just learn to accept her, even if it´s hard.
Austin- check your email
John- when did you wreck your car? i didn´t get that email. was it your fault? do you have to pay for it? How´s being a missionary without a car?
Natasha- you may beat me, but you won´t win me. NEVER.
Shaylee- i really love you letters. They´re the best from the family. They make me laugh.
Well, this is God´s true church. He lives and loves us. He called Joseph Smith as a Prophet. The book of Mormon is the word of God. It´s true. The Atonement is real. Christ atoned for our sins. He can help us through ANY problem that we may be having. He loves us more than we can imagine. Thomas S. Monson is truly a living prophet. I love you all.
Love, Elder Jordan Schouten
